Therapist training The professional Qigong sensory therapeutic massage training we offer uses various forms of pressure and techniques that are applied to the head and body to either increase or decrease the hypo or hyper excitability of nerves in the skin, depending on individual needs. This allows the sensation of touch to be normalised, therefore changing the sensation of touch from unpleasant to pleasurable, providing deeper child-to-parent bonding allowing the child to feel safe and to develop connections with those around them. We Train professionals or charitable organisations experienced in working with children or families of children with autism with this technique, who will then provide parent training to the parents of autistic children in their communities. The initial training we provide is hand on and then supported remotely, which in total takes approximately four to five months. Parents/caregiver training During the course of the training, parents/caregivers receive training on how to massage their child and adjust massage according to the child's needs. The parents/caregiver will be supervised by the therapist’s parents/caregiver until learning everything that is needed to continue the daily massage independently. The massage is applied on a daily basis by the parents/caregivers, which takes around 15-20 minutes per day.
1. Massage is easy to learn 2. It is cost-effective, as the parent will be able to provide the treatment independently without a therapist 3: It can be done in the comfort of your own home, without trips to the therapist and added travel expenses 4: It provides a deep bonding experience, thus also reducing stress for both the receiver and the giver
